Cleaning your house on a regular basis sounds very tedious, especially if you keep a busy schedule at work. But, doing so will help maintain the cleanliness of your house that you would feel like your home cleans itself. Regular cleaning does not mean that you have to spend hours and hours cleaning each corner of your house. You just have to spend around 15 or 20 minutes of your time to have this done. To do this successfully, here are some tips that you can follow.
- A good enough clean means you are done cleaning. You don’t have to be thorough when it comes to cleaning your house on a daily basis. This may sound inappropriate or unfavorable to people who wants everything thoroughly clean, but a good enough clean does not mean that it is not clean. In a 15-minute cleaning window, you will be able to do a lot. It may not be perfect, but it will be clean. And besides, if you have more time the next day or in the weekend, you can then give your house a thorough cleaning from top to bottom. Cleaning your house for 15 minutes will help reduce the time you spend in cleaning in the weekends. It is better than not cleaning at all.
- Keep your cleaning tools and supplies close. It would be very helpful if your cleaning materials are organized and are easy to access. Spending five minutes of your cleaning time trying to find your cleaning tools will cut your cleaning time short. Thus, it will work to your own advantage if your cleaning supplies are easy to access. You can put them in a place where you usually use them. Rags and cleaning products can be placed in the bathroom so you can grab them and clean as you see dirt as you enter the room. Cleaning materials used in your kitchen should also be placed somewhere in the kitchen. Maybe under the sink?
- You should plan ahead. Keeping your cleaning materials and supplies close to where you usually use them is not the only strategy that can save you time. Planning ahead helps too. If you have a plan, then you would not spend a lot of time thinking what you should do next. Make a daily planner and try to stick to it. Your daily cleaning routine does not have to involve different task. One day can be your “vacuum your bedroom carpet day” and the next can be your “bathroom cleaning day”. You just have to prioritize and think of the time you need to perform each task. On the days that you have more spare time, then you can use this day to schedule a cleaning routine that needs more time than usual.
- Stick to your cleaning schedule. Sticking to your cleaning schedule may be a struggle at first, especially if you are not used to having one. But, with a schedule, easing into your cleaning routine will be much easier. It will be no time that you will be able to fit your cleaning schedule to your daily routines. You can have your schedule printed out so you can check off each item that you have already done. Or you can use mobile apps to keep you reminded of the things that you need to do on a daily basis. There are plenty of free apps that you can use. You just have to find out which ones are the best for you.
